Agenda & Minutes

Agendas for the Board of Aldermen meetings are prepared for each scheduled meeting by the Town Clerk and generally posted by Thursday 5:00 pm preceding the scheduled meeting. If you wish to be placed on the printed agenda to address the Board of Aldermen, contact either the Town Manager, Mayor, or Town Clerk by 5:00 pm on the first Tuesday of each month. Minutes of the meetings are available online and in the Town Clerk’s Office after approval by the Board of Aldermen and can be viewed by appointment. Please contact the Office of the Town Clerk at (704) 922-3176.

Board of Aldermen regular meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00 pm. Work Sessions are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 5:00 pm, unless otherwise notified. Meetings are held at the Historic Dallas Courthouse, located at 131 N. Gaston St. Dallas, NC 28034. The public is welcome to attend.

Sunshine List

The Town of Dallas is committed to keeping its citizens informed of the operations of the town. The North Carolina General Statutes address how public bodies must provide notice of meetings.

NCGS 143-318.12 requires public bodies to provide notice of meetings and public hearings to anyone who requests the information in writing through the Clerk. The list of individuals and organizations who have requested to receive notices is commonly referred to as the “Sunshine List.”

Anyone interested in being notified about the Town of Dallas meetings and public hearings should send an email to the Town Clerk and ask to be added to the Sunshine List.

Recognition & Proclamation Request

Proclamations and Resolutions of Recognition are ceremonial documents signed by the mayor and issued for public awareness, charitable events, arts and cultural celebrations and other special honors. The Town of Dallas reserves the right to accept, deny or revise requests for ceremonial documents as appropriate within the Town’s sole discretion.

The Office of the Town Clerk holds official responsibility for the creation, maintenance and preservation of Public Records for the Town of Dallas. Specifically, the Town Clerk prepares official Minutes of all Meetings of the Board of Aldermen; compiles, records and maintains Town Ordinances and Resolutions; Keeps and files contracts, Town policies (Administrative and Personnel) and other official documents and correspondence, including archived Board agendas and Meeting packet materials.
