Nestled in the heart of Gaston County and proudly known as the original county seat, Dallas combines small-town charm with a strong sense of community, history, and opportunity. Located just minutes from Gastonia and within easy reach of Charlotte, Dallas offers peaceful hometown living while remaining connected to the surrounding region.
Over the past several years, Dallas has continued investing in the people, places, and traditions that make our town special. From parks and recreation improvements to downtown revitalization, beautification efforts, and family-centered community events, Dallas is a welcoming destination while preserving the character residents know and love.
Dallas will soon be home to the Gaston Aquatics Center, which will feature the largest competitive lap pool west of Greensboro. This exciting addition will create new opportunities for recreation, wellness, athletics, and regional events for families across Gaston County and beyond.
Education also remains a cornerstone of our community. Dallas is proud to be home to the main campus of Gaston College, an institution that continues to expand educational opportunities, workforce development, and athletic programs that positively impact students throughout our region.
Our local schools continue to set the standard for leadership and excellence. Both Carr Elementary School and North Gaston High School have earned the prestigious Leader in Me Lighthouse School designation, reflecting the dedication of students, educators, administrators, and families committed to leadership and personal growth.
Looking toward the future, the Town of Dallas is also launching the Mayor Student Council beginning in 2026. This new initiative will provide local students with opportunities to learn about government, leadership, volunteerism, and community service while ensuring young voices have a seat at the table. It reflects our commitment not only to preserving the community we love today, but also investing in the next generation of leaders who will shape Dallas tomorrow.
We are proud of our award-winning departments, thriving schools, local businesses, and most importantly, our people. Dallas continues to be a place where neighbors know each other, families build lasting memories, and community still matters.
Whether you are considering relocating, opening a business, visiting for the day, or looking for a place to call home, we invite you to experience why Dallas truly is the best place to live, work, and play.
On behalf of the Town of Dallas, welcome; we are glad you’re here!
Most sincerely,
Hayley Beaty
Mayor, Town of Dallas
