In recent years, the Dallas Volunteer Fire Department has been awarded several federal and state grants, including Homeland Security's "Assistance to Firefighters" (AFG) and the "Fire Prevention and Safety" Grant(s) as well as the "NC Dept. of Insurance OSFM Volunteer Firefighter's Grant". Specifically:
- FEMA Fire Grant for $102,600 to purchase 20 SCBA Units
- State Fire Grant for $6906.62 for a new extrication tool, AED and 4 nozzles
- Smoke Detector grant from the Office of the State Fire Marshal for 53 Photoelectric Smoke Detectors which we gave out and installed for the senior citizens of Dallas.
The Town of Dallas and the DVFD actively seeks all available grant monies in order to provide the best service possible for our citizens.
In addition, the DVFD was awarded the "Outstanding Volunteer Fire Department for Gaston County" in 2013 by the Gaston County Jaycees.
