Welcome!
Message from Mayor Rick Coleman;
It has been my pleasure to call Dallas home for over 55 years, and it has been my honor to serve as Mayor for 13 years. I’d like to extend a warm welcome to you, whether you are a new or existing resident or a business owner.
The Town of Dallas boasts a growing population of approximately 4700, with a variety of housing options, including senior living, historic homes, apartments and single family home
subdivisions.
The Town boasts a highly successful municipal electric utility providing reliable, low-cost power; a water and wastewater system growing in capacity and quality; well-equipped and
trained public safety departments (Police, Fire, Rescue) and a variety of family-oriented recreational activities for young and old. Dallas also boasts a library (part of the Gaston
County system) and the Gaston County museum, housed in the historic Hoffman Hotel.
Dallas is conveniently poised near two major thoroughfares; Highway 321 and I-85, providing easy and quick access to nearby destinations. Dallas is just minutes from major shopping
areas, a hospital and only 25 minutes from the 8th largest airport in the U.S. (Charlotte International).
Dallas is home to great schools, including Carr Elementary in town and W.C. Friday Middle and North Gaston High School just north of the Town limits off Philadelphia Church Road.
Just west of the center of Town is Gaston College which offers many day and evening Programs available to young students and adults alike.
Dallas is home to three small parks and a gym and is in close proximity to Dallas County Park. Although owned and operated by Gaston County, this park is 100 acres and provides an
oasis of walking trails, fishing ponds, and a number of shelters available for rent. Dallas is also home to the Agricultural Center in which many Senior activities take place, as well as the
Gaston County Animal shelter where your next family pet may be waiting!
In addition to several annual activities such as the Easter Egg Hunt, Mayfair on the Square, the 4th of July celebration of fireworks (known as the largest in Gaston county), Trick or
Treat on the Square, the Christmas Parade and Carols on the Square, starting in May, the Town will host a Summer Concert Series on the second Saturday of each month through the
summer months.
There is an abundance of churches with diverse denominations in the Town of Dallas, as well as the amenities of a major grocery store, several drugstores, fast food and dine-in restaurants
and a future Urgent Care medical facility.
