Drought Information - Stage 2
05/01/2026
Due to ongoing drought conditions, the Catawba Wateree Water Management Group (CWWMG) has upgraded the water conservation status to Stage II – Mandatory Reductions as of today, Friday May 1, 2026.
In Stage 2, Mandatory Reductions I, Town of Dallas residents/customers, are expected to reduce their water use by 10% in comparison to their previous month’s water bill. Outdoor watering is now limited to specific days and times, and some water uses are prohibited. Fines may apply for repeat violations. In addition to continuing to encourage all voluntary reduction actions, the following restrictions apply:
  • irrigation is limited to a half inch per week between 8PM and 8AM;
  • outdoor use of drinking water for washing impervious surfaces is prohibited;
  • and all testing and training purposes requiring drinking water (e.g. fire protection) will be limited.
The Town of Dallas will continue to monitor conditions in coordination with regional partners and will provide updates as they become available.
