Welcome!

Old folklore tells of a popular saying that “All roads lead to Dallas.” In the heart of Gaston County in North Carolina’s Piedmont region, you’ll find the small, residential town of Dallas. As a family-oriented, quiet town close to numerous big city amenities, Dallas has the best of all worlds. Dallas is approximately three miles north of the City of Gastonia, and within 20 miles of the Queen City of Charlotte.

Dallas is a solid community on the verge of positive growth. Corporate limits have recently been increased, positioning the Town for future expansion through annexation and approved subdivisions.  During the past several years Dallas has enhanced its operations with the aid of several state and federal grants.  Some of the Town’s award-winning departments include:

·         Dallas Parks and Recreation Department

·         Public Works Department

·         Police Department

·         Fire Department

Dallas shares ties with, or has been home to, a wide range of famous citizens, including William C. Friday, former UNC President and North Carolina activist, Dallas Friday, an Espy winner and top female wake boarder, and Duane Ross, a previous 100-meter hurdle Olympic contender.  In addition to the many historic sites listed on the National Historic Register, Dallas is also home to the main branch of Gaston College, The Gaston County Museum, and Gaston County's Citizen's Resource Center

Whether you are considering relocating, opening a new business, or just spending a pleasant afternoon as a visitor, I look forward to sharing with you why Dallas really is the best place to live, work, and play!Rick C. Coleman, Mayor

Most sincerely,
