Mission

The mission of the Dallas Police Department shall be to provide a safe environment in which residents and non-residents can live and work. This mission shall be accomplished by the prompt, but fair, enforcement of local and state laws.

It is therefore the policy of the Dallas Police Department to provide honest, fair and efficient law enforcement to all people within its jurisdiction without regard to age, race, sex, national origin or disability.

To ensure a safe and enriched community and to enforce the criminal laws of this state, Town of Dallas law enforcement officers take a solemn oath to fulfill all duties of the office to the best of their ability and to do so in a fair and impartial manner. They agree to support and maintain the Constitution and Laws of the United States, the Constitution and Laws of North Carolina, and Ordinances of the Town.

 

Duties

Under the direction of Chief of Police G. W. Buckner, the department of 13 officers diligently:

·         Patrol

·         Conduct investigations

·         Serve citations and warrants

·         Make arrests

·         Assist the Gaston County Police and Sheriff's Department

 

Awards

The Dallas Police Department has recently been awarded the coveted 2004 North Carolina Governor's Crime Commission grant. These funds are being utilized to assist with crime prevention and community education activities that prevent and reduce crime, and help ensure public safety.
