Dallas Volunteer Fire Department
Since 1962 the Dallas V.F.D., which
consists of approximately 24 active
Firefighters, has proudly served the
area by providing fire protection for
the Town, and mutual aid for
neighboring communities.

Mission
Dedicated to the fire protection of
children, adults, senior citizens,
businesses, and property, the
department's mission is to respond
to, and mitigate, emergencies
involving fire and entrapment of
people, as well as provide fire
prevention education to local schools
and businesses. The department also
assists with several community events
and sponsors the popular annual Dallas
Christmas parade.
Awards
In recent years the Dallas Fire
Department has been awarded several
federal and state grants, including
Homeland Security’s “Assistance to
Firefighter's" (AFG) and the “Fire
Prevention & Safety" Grants, and NC
Dept of Insurance OSFM Volunteer
Firefighter's Grant. The Town of Dallas
and the department actively seek all
available grant monies in order to
provide the best service possible for
our citizens.

New Educational Programs
Recently the department
introduced two innovative fire
safety public education campaigns:
"Fire Safe Kids" and "Fire Safe
Senior Buddies".
These educational programs
consist of demonstrations, fire
drills, inspections, and special
literature aimed at fire safety
for young children and senior-
citizens. The safety techniques
are taught at local day care
providers,
kindergarten through
second grade classes, and senior
-citizen living facilities.
Permits
Limited burning permits for areas
within the Town may be obtained
under certain circumstances. For
details on permit requirements
please consult the Town ordinances
or contact the Fire Chief.

Dallas V.F.D. Updates
In order to accommodate the
growing needs of our fire
department, as well as provide the
community with better fire
protection and a much-needed
meeting facility,the Town & the
Fire Department have been working
on plans for a new facility for many
years.
On May 31st, 2009, long-awaited
plans became reality when an Open
House was held for the official
christening of the new Dallas Fire
Station.
